Siam Fibreboard upgrades Thai MDF with Sunds Fibertech PressBooster
The Thai manufacturer completed the installation of two PressBooster systems in April and June 2026, aiming to increase medium-density fiberboard capacity and improve product quality.

Siam Fibreboard Installs New Production Systems
Siam Fibreboard, a Thai producer of medium-density fiberboard (MDF) and reconstituted wood products, has completed the integration of two PressBooster systems from Sunds Fibertech. This project, initiated with an order placed in November 2025, saw the first system become operational in April 2026. The second unit followed, commencing operations in June 2026.
The final acceptance of both systems marks a significant step for the manufacturer, as it seeks to enhance its production capabilities and the overall quality of its board products.
Enhancing MDF Quality and Output
The PressBooster technology, supplied by Sunds Fibertech, functions by applying steam to the fiber mat prior to the pressing stage. This process is engineered to deliver several key benefits, including an increase in manufacturing capacity and an improvement in the quality of the finished boards.
Furthermore, the system is designed to reduce the consumption of resin during production, which can contribute to lower manufacturing costs for Siam Fibreboard. Both systems have reportedly met their agreed performance targets and operated reliably since their respective start-up dates, according to Sunds Fibertech.
Targeted Improvements for Thin-Board Lines
One of the two PressBooster systems was specifically installed on Siam Fibreboard's high-speed production line dedicated to thin boards. This strategic placement suggests a focus on optimizing the output and quality within a particular segment of their MDF product range.
Marcus Mattsson, Vice-President of Sales for Asia-Pacific at Sunds Fibertech, acknowledged the successful acceptance of both systems, emphasizing the collaborative effort throughout the project's duration.
Implications for Asian Building Material Sourcing
For procurement professionals, architects, and interior designers across Asia, Siam Fibreboard's investment in advanced production technology indicates a potential increase in the availability of high-quality medium-density fiberboard from Thailand.
The reported improvements in board consistency and manufacturing efficiency could translate into more reliable material sourcing options for various construction and furnishing projects.
Buyers should consider inquiring with Siam Fibreboard about the specific technical data and availability of MDF products manufactured using these newly installed PressBooster systems for their upcoming material specifications.
