Weyerhaeuser to Distribute TimberHP Wood Fiber Insulation in US
The agreement covers TimberBatt and TimberBoard products, making insulation from renewable softwood residuals available across the US through Weyerhaeuser's building materials network.

Weyerhaeuser Expands Wood Fiber Insulation Access
Weyerhaeuser, a major North American wood products manufacturer, has formed a commercial partnership with TimberHP to distribute wood fiber insulation products throughout the US. This agreement grants Weyerhaeuser commercialization and distribution rights for TimberHP’s TimberBatt and TimberBoard insulation.
These products will become available across the country via Weyerhaeuser's established lumber and building materials distribution network. TimberHP, based in Madison, Maine, produces these materials. The partnership specifically excludes TimberFill blown-in insulation, which will continue under its existing distribution arrangements.
TimberHP Wood Fiber Insulation Details
TimberHP manufactures its TimberBatt and TimberBoard insulation products using renewable softwood residuals. These materials are designed to support energy efficiency in building construction. They also offer an alternative for lower-carbon building practices, contrasting with conventional insulation materials. The products aim to provide builders and contractors with options that contribute to more sustainable project outcomes.
Distribution and Technical Support Strategy
Weyerhaeuser will utilize its transport infrastructure, sales capabilities, and customer relationships to make TimberHP’s products more widely available. Both companies plan to combine their commercial and technical expertise to increase product adoption.
This includes providing product education, architectural assistance, and installation training for dealers, builders, and contractors. Matt O’Malia, CEO and co-founder of TimberHP, stated that the agreement would help expand the market for wood fiber insulation in the US.
Neal Shunk, Vice-President of Wood Product Sales and Marketing at Weyerhaeuser, noted the partnership broadens their company’s product portfolio. The companies are also exploring opportunities to develop and commercialize additional wood-based building materials.
Implications for Building Materials Procurement
This partnership increases the availability of TimberHP's TimberBatt and TimberBoard wood fiber insulation for US builders and contractors. Procurement teams in the US can now source these wood fiber insulation products through Weyerhaeuser's established channels, offering more choices for projects focused on energy efficiency and lower-carbon construction.
For Asian manufacturers of insulation products, particularly those developing bio-based or timber-derived solutions, this US market expansion indicates a growing demand for such materials in developed economies.
While this agreement has no direct impact on Asian supply chains, it signals a potential shift in material preferences that could influence product development for export markets or future green building projects within Asia.
