Vecoplan to exhibit wood shredders, fire detection at Ecomondo
German manufacturer Vecoplan will showcase its VAZ 2500 and VEZ 3300 e-mobil shredders, alongside a thermal imaging system for plant safety, at the Ecomondo trade fair in Rimini, Italy from November 3–6, 2026.

Vecoplan at Ecomondo 2026 in Italy
Vecoplan, a German manufacturer, will present its latest shredding and monitoring technologies at the Ecomondo environmental technology trade fair. The event is scheduled to take place in Rimini, Italy, from November 3–6, 2026.
Ecomondo focuses on industrial solutions for the green and circular economy, providing a platform for companies to display advancements in environmental technology. Vecoplan’s exhibit will include two specific shredder models, the VAZ 2500 and the VEZ 3300 e-mobil, as well as a thermal imaging system designed to enhance safety in recycling facilities.
VAZ 2500 for Wood Processing
Among the equipment on display will be the VAZ 2500 shredder, which Vecoplan states is the largest model within its VAZ series. This unit will be shown at Ecomondo for the first time. The VAZ 2500 incorporates Vecoplan’s HiTorc direct drive technology and features an automatically adjustable counter knife.
It is engineered to process a range of materials, including residual wood, pallets, and various wood composites. This shredder aims to provide efficient material reduction for operations handling significant volumes of diverse wood-based waste.
Mobile Shredding with VEZ 3300 e-mobil
Visitors will also learn about the VEZ 3300 e-mobil, which Vecoplan identifies as its first mobile alternative fuel shredder. This machine offers flexibility by being deployable directly where material is generated. The VEZ 3300 e-mobil is capable of processing up to 80 tonnes of material per hour, making it suitable for high-capacity applications.
Its primary uses include processing waste wood and biomass. Equipped with an electric HiTorc drive, the company indicates this model is designed for energy-efficient operation in various demanding environments.
Thermal Imaging for Plant Safety
Beyond shredding machinery, Vecoplan will showcase its hotspot monitoring system, a thermal imaging solution for recycling plants. This system utilizes thermal imaging cameras to detect critical temperature changes at an early stage of development.
The technology is intended to help identify potential fire risks before they escalate, thereby enhancing operational safety within recycling facilities. Such monitoring systems are crucial for preventing hazards associated with material overheating during storage or processing in industrial settings.
Implications for Asian Wood Processors
For Asian timber processors and waste wood recycling facilities, the technologies presented by Vecoplan at Ecomondo offer insights into improving operational efficiency and safety.
The mobile VEZ 3300 e-mobil, with its capacity of up to 80 tonnes per hour for waste wood and biomass, could be particularly relevant for distributed collection points or temporary processing sites across the region.
Furthermore, the thermal imaging hotspot monitoring system provides a concrete solution for enhancing fire prevention in Asian recycling plants, helping to protect assets and personnel by identifying critical temperature changes early. Procurement teams and plant managers in Asia can evaluate these advancements for upgrading their material handling and safety protocols.
