Hilton Debuts First Southeast Asia Canopy Hotel in Bangkok; AvroKO Designs Interiors

Canopy Hotels Debuts in Southeast Asia
Hilton opened Canopy Bangkok Sukhumvit, establishing the Canopy Hotels brand's first presence in Southeast Asia. The hotel is located in Bangkok’s Asoke neighborhood. Interior design studio AvroKO was responsible for the design of the hotel’s public spaces and all guest rooms.
This opening expands Hilton’s lifestyle portfolio within the region, as stated by Alexandra Murray, Hilton’s Area Vice President and Regional Head of Southeast Asia. Design Details and Guest Room Specifications
AvroKO's design draws from the multiple layers of Asoke, including its industrial past and the historical Sri Krung Sound Film Studio. The interiors also show the contrast between Bangkok's traditional and modern elements. A bronze facade, inspired by vintage film cameras, forms part of the hotel's arrival experience.
A central courtyard guides guests from the street into the property. The hotel includes 174 guest rooms, designed as comfortable spaces. The room inventory covers King and Twin Canopy Rooms, Accessible Rooms, Urban View Rooms, Courtyard Rooms, Courtyard Deluxe Rooms, King Canopy Corner Rooms, and three suites: one King Suk Jai Suite and two King Asoke Suites.
Guest room designs reference the warmth of Thai family homes once found along Sukhumvit Soi 12, reinterpreted with contemporary forms.
Material Choices and Procurement Implications
The guest rooms feature curved forms, softened edges, and warm neutral materials. Industrial-inspired finishes acknowledge the nearby Klong Toey port district and Asoke's urban character. A signature blue Paa Khram fabric canopy is installed above each bed, paying tribute to one of Thailand’s oldest handwoven textiles.
Beyond the rooms, the hotel offers a rooftop pool, a 24-hour fitness center, and four restaurants and bars. Cante, a Spanish fire grill and taberna, serves as the hotel’s signature dining venue, with design cues from Southern Spain.
