MGallery Chengdu Opens: Stack Studio Designs with Low-E Glass
The new 155-guestroom property in Chengdu Financial City integrates an energy-efficient building envelope and water-saving fixtures.

Chengdu Financial City Welcomes New MGallery Property
MGallery Collection, an Accor brand, has commenced operations at its Financial City Chengdu hotel, marking its third location in the city and the newest in Greater China.
Situated in the Chengdu Financial City area, the property’s design, led by Australian firm Stack Studio, draws inspiration from Tang Dynasty poet Zhang Ji’s "Song of Chengdu." The aesthetic aims to evoke a "hidden lychee grove," starting with a century-old local lychee tree integrated into the ground floor.
This natural element extends to the Sky Garden, a rooftop space located seven floors above, offering an open-air green area.
Guestrooms and Event Facilities
The hotel provides 155 guestrooms and suites, each designed to reflect local cultural elements such as river mists and crimson sunsets. For business and social gatherings, the property includes a multi-functional event space spanning approximately 480 square meters. This area is adaptable for corporate events, banquets, and private celebrations.
Additionally, a fitness center features floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows that open onto an outdoor terrace, providing a bright environment for guests.
Sustainable Building Specifications
In line with Accor’s global sustainability commitments, the Financial City Chengdu – MGallery Collection incorporates several eco-conscious specifications. These include a plastic-reduction program and smart energy management systems within guestrooms. The building’s envelope features an energy-efficient design, utilizing insulated Low-E glass curtain walls.
Water conservation is addressed through water-saving fixtures installed throughout the property, supported by high-efficiency water-cooled magnetic-bearing chillers and LED lighting systems. These measures aim to reduce the hotel's environmental impact.
Western China Hospitality Market Growth
Accor’s Chief Executive Officer for Greater China, Kent Zhu, stated that Chengdu is a key location in the company’s expansion strategy for Western China. The region’s premium and luxury hospitality sector is experiencing growth, indicating a continued demand for high-specification materials and FF&E in new hotel projects.
Suppliers of energy-efficient building envelopes, advanced HVAC systems, water-saving fixtures, and interior finishes suitable for luxury properties should note this sustained investment in Western China’s hospitality sector.
