InterContinental Taipei Opens with 347 Rooms in Xinyi District
Developed with Farglory Group, the hotel features rooms starting at 38m2 and residential suites from 76m2, alongside seven dining concepts.

InterContinental Taipei Opens in Xinyi
IHG Hotels & Resorts has launched the InterContinental Taipei, its second collaboration with Farglory Group. The 347-room property is situated within the Taipei Dome complex in the city's Xinyi District. This opening follows the partners' previous project, InterContinental Kaohsiung.
The new hotel aims to connect guests with Taipei's business, cultural, dining, and entertainment offerings, serving as a flagship for the InterContinental brand in Taiwan. The launch coincides with InterContinental Hotels & Resorts' 80th anniversary.
Room Specifications and Amenities
The InterContinental Taipei offers 347 guest rooms, including classic rooms and residential-style suites. Classic rooms begin at approximately 38 square meters, with some providing views of Taipei 101. Residential suites, starting from approximately 76 square meters, are equipped with a full kitchen, a dedicated dining area, and in-suite laundry facilities.
The hotel also features seven distinct dining concepts, including restaurants overseen by chef Akira Back. Additional amenities include versatile event spaces, an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, and a Club InterContinental lounge.
Design Reflects Taipei's Culture
The hotel's design concept, "In Taipei, For Taipei," integrates elements of the city's architecture, culture, and collective memory throughout its spaces. This approach is visible from the lobby's central installation to the musical motifs incorporated into the event areas.
The design aims to create a sense of belonging to Taipei, offering international visitors a deeper engagement with the city and providing local guests new ways to experience their hometown.
Implications for FF&E and Design Suppliers
The opening of InterContinental Taipei, a 347-room luxury property with extensive amenities, signals continued investment in high-end hospitality projects across Taiwan.
For FF&E suppliers, interior designers, and procurement teams, this project demonstrates demand for diverse product categories, including guest room furniture, kitchen systems for residential suites, and specialized items for seven dining venues and event spaces.
The partnership between IHG and Farglory Group, now on its second InterContinental property, suggests a potential pipeline for future collaborations that could require a broad range of building materials and interior fit-outs. Specifiers should note the emphasis on local cultural integration in design briefs for similar projects.
