Event Introduces New Saws and Anniversary Models

HOMAG held its Treff 2026 event from 22–25 September in Schopfloch and Holzbronn, Germany, gathering customers and industry representatives. The four-day exhibition, themed "Building connections: Discussing the future face-to-face," showcased new wood processing machinery and production technologies.

Key introductions included the new SAWTEQ S-190 panel saw and special anniversary editions of the SAWTEQ S-300 and S-400 models. These S-300 and S-400 machines are limited to 60 units each, marking HOMAG’s 60th anniversary. The event also featured live discussions on topics such as artificial intelligence and automation in manufacturing.

Product Features and Technology Focus

The SAWTEQ S-190 panel saw is engineered for trade and industrial applications that demand high cutting performance from a compact machine. A notable feature of the S-190 is its rotating safety device, which frees up additional storage space underneath the machine's rear table.

Beyond new saws, HOMAG Treff 2026 covered a broad spectrum of wood processing technologies, including CNC processing, edge processing, and advancements in automation and robotics. The program also explored software solutions, digitalization, and cybersecurity within the manufacturing context, allowing visitors to see machinery in operation and engage with experts.

Digitalization and Industry Programs

Digitalization efforts were highlighted through the HOMAG Intelligence cloud-based platform, which integrates sales, configuration, and production processes. The platform includes new features for intelliDivide, designed to optimize cutting processes for improved efficiency and adaptability to specific production requirements.

The event also featured a series of live talks addressing critical industry issues such as automation, the application of artificial intelligence, and the ongoing shortage of skilled workers.

Additionally, the program concluded with "Carpenter Days," a dedicated segment offering live talks, exhibitions, and networking opportunities specifically for small and medium-sized businesses.

Implications for Asian Manufacturers

Asian furniture and panel manufacturers can consider these new HOMAG offerings to enhance their production capabilities. The SAWTEQ S-190’s compact design and high cutting performance may suit facilities with space constraints or those looking to upgrade their panel processing lines.

For larger operations, the advancements in automation, CNC, and edge processing technologies, along with the HOMAG Intelligence platform, suggest potential for increased efficiency and integration across the production chain.

Manufacturers in Asia seeking to modernize their operations or address labor challenges through automation should evaluate how these new machines and digital solutions could be integrated into their existing workflows to improve output and precision.
